11
12
This directory contains solution and project files for
13Visual C++ 2010 or newer, named freetype.sln,
14and freetype.vcxproj. It compiles the following libraries
15from the FreeType 2.9 sources:

16
17

18
freetype.dll using 'Release' or 'Debug' configurations

19
freetype.lib using 'Release Static' or 'Debug Static' configurations

20

21
22
Both Win32 and x64 builds are supported. Build directories and target
23files are placed in the top-level objs directory.

24
25
Customization of the FreeType library is done by editing the
26ftoption.h header file in the top-level devel path.
27Alternatively, you may copy the file to another directory and change the
28include directory in freetype.users.props.

29
30
To configure library dependencies like zlib and libpng,
31edit the freetype.users.props file in this directory. It also
32simplifies automated (command-line) builds using <a
33href="http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/dd393574%28v=vs.100%29.aspx">msbuild.

34
35
To link your executable with FreeType DLL, you may want to define
36FT2_DLLIMPORT so that the imported functions are appropriately
37attributed with dllimport.
