19<p>Android Security Advisories are a supplement to the
20<a href="{@docRoot}security/bulletin/index.html">Android Security Bulletins</a>.
21Android publishes advisories to address issues that may not require security patches
22or Nexus/Pixel device updates but could still affect an Android user’s overall
23security. Android Security Bulletins are accompanied by
24<a href="https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images">factory device images</a>
25and over-the-air (OTA) device updates to protect users against known
26security issues in the Android ecosystem. Android Security Advisories are meant
27to provide users detailed information and guidance on Android-related
28security issues potentially <em>without</em> an accompanying software update.</p>

30<p>However, when updates are available to address issues described in an Android
31Security Advisory, those updates will be made available in an Android Security
32Bulletin for Nexus and Pixel devices. In the Android Security Bulletin, we will
33reference the Android Security Advisories that the bulletin addresses.</p>

37group to receive a notification when we publish an advisory.</p>
